Our primary aim is to foster a culture amongst makers that is built on honesty, accountability, and a desire to see shared success.

Object Merchant is first and foremost an in-person platform. Whilst we use digital spaces to promote our events, we believe real life connection between makers and audiences is a key element in what makes art valuable.

We engage artists and designers that embody expressions of their unique perspectives in their work. In an age of Artificial Intelligence and digital replication, we try and platform work that is original and carefully considered.

Being conscious of the environmental and social impact of our work is at the core of Object Merchant. We present an alternative mode of consumption to current systems and invite audiences to rethink how they shop. We are discerning in platforming designers and artists who implement sustainable and ethical practises.

Object Merchant strives to showcase designers and makers from a vast array of lived experience, and create spaces that are welcoming and safe for members of marginalised communities.

Reflection is invaluable to the growth of our organisation. We are committed to excellence, and therefore take on feedback from the many stakeholders involved in our operations and look to improve each event. We are imperfect, but committed to constant learning.
